Each week we want to pass on some of the little things that have inspired us on social media, things we've read or listened to, things we've learnt and moments that impacted us and the things we are most grateful for during that week. These are our Friday Favourites:
1. What I am watching ...
This is the 3rd season of Netflix's "Last Chance U". The series (if you are not familiar) follows a college football programme which offers some of its students a last chance to graduate.
2. My I'm reading ...
This article on how to manage your inner voice really resonated with me and is something I think we all need to understand how to manage. The article shares 10 of the most common destructive thoughts and some ideas on how we might overcome these.
3. What I liked on social ...
Now I've mentioned my love of arts and craft before and this is one of the reasons why I'm so fearful of the practice. This is my worse nightmare. Mr Maker meets Norman Bates. LOL!
4. What I am reflecting on ..
To often the pressure and expectation that comes with trying to be perfect causes more harm than good. I'm not saying trying to be the best we can isn't important, its just that when we stop trying to be perfect it gives a little more breathing space, flexibility and even compassion to show the best of us.
5. What I am most grateful for ...
"Voice of an Angel" LOL!!! Parenting can bring out a bit of the competitive edge at times 🤼♀️ as you battle to claim all of those amazing qualities your child displays 😁 whilst off loading the not so good onto your partner 😤! “She’s got my eyes”, “she’s got my skin tone”, “she’s got my sense of humor”, “she’s got my determination”. Rarely do I put my hand up and say, “she farts like me,” 💨 or “she screams like me when I’m waiting for you’” or “she ignores me like I do when you ask me to hang the washing up”, or “she bites me just like I do when you take the remote control off me.” 👹I think one of the best things about being a parent though is that your children actually get to share the best and worst of two people 💏who aren’t perfect 👌 but are just trying to do their best and be better people in the process. So I’d like to start now to correct my bias to taking all the good bits and admit, I can’t take responsibility for this particular ability 🤷♂️ , she 💯% gets this particular skill from her Mum! The voice of an 😇 😂❤️😍!
