Each week I want to pass on some of the little things that have inspired me on social media, things I've read or listened to, things I've learnt, moments that impacted me and the things I am most grateful for during the last week. These are my Friday Favourites:
1. What I watched ...
Recently I've noticed that may 5 year old daughter has a habit of blaming anyone or anything when things don't go her way. It's strange as blame isn't something her mum or I do, but then I saw this short animation from RSA which tries to explain what blame is and why we do it.
2. What I learnt about myself ...
So have you set yourself any goals recently that you are struggling to commit to? Or maybe you have a partner who is saying they want to commit to something but are not seeing it through? This 4 Tendencies Questionnaire from Gretchen Rubin is a great tool to help you understand why we commit to somethings and not others, as well as helping to understand how you can help other people see their goals through.
3. Who I am interested in ...
This is just a small section of the famous Stanford speech that Steve Jobs gave, but I think it captures everything that is important about living a life of purpose and meaning. Definitely one I'll be showing my children in a few years.
4. What I am reading ...
I recently picked up this book again and absolutely love it more the second time around. It's a really easy book to read and such a simple concept on how to live an authentic life:
5. What I am practising ...
Finding your North Star ! Please don’t think that I’m trying to say that finding your North Star is easy. It really isn’t. It’s a hard frustrating and at times a lonely quest. But as they say climbing the mountain is worth it because the views from the top are spectacular. The reason for this little video then is to help set you on your way, to help you start to be more aware of what lights you up inside, what really drives you. There are many ways you can get there but one things is certain, to get there you have to start from somewhere. I hope you this helps you on your way.
That's it for this weeks Friday Favourites, if you have something you want to share, or any feedback on these favourites you can leave a comment on my Facebook page or follow me on Instagram.
