Friday Favourites

Updated: Mar 1, 2019

Each week I want to pass on some of the little things that have inspired me on social media, things I've read or listened to, things I've learnt, moments that impacted me and the things I am most grateful for during the last week. These are my Friday Favourites:

1. What I watched ...

Dylan Marron is a Digital Creator who has a massive social following. Unfortunately with huge online popularity comes the inevitable haters. In this Ted Talk Dylan talks about the impact this had on him and how he coped with it. Instead of hiding he faced up to them, tried to understand them and asked them why they wrote what they wrote.

2. What I interested in ...

Flow state is said to be the most optimum state we can be in. It's that moment when what we are doing seems effortless and time is distorted. In this video Steven Kotler shares how we can access this state more often.

3. What I am trying ...

I love this listening wheel from the Samaritans. So often we're in conversation waiting to offer our own advice or share our own experience without fully engaging and listening to the other person. This is a great approach to help us actually listen to what is being said.

4. What I read ...

Are you a night owl or morning lark? This article looks at how our brain function differs during the working today if you are an early or late riser.

5. What I am practising ...

Checking in with our senses is a great way to come back to the present moment. This is something we can easily do throughout the day. I hope you enjoy this week’s Mindful Moment.

That's it for this weeks Friday Favourites, if you have something you want to share, or any feedback on these favourites you can leave a comment on my Facebook page or follow me on Instagram.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read, until next time #fridayfavourites #bestmebestyou # thelittleowlbook
